We have repeatedly received
questions from consumers about the 'dates' imprinted on the
packaging of products we sell, or the lack thereof.
Repeated efforts on our part to
resolve this question with our own 'supplier sources' did not shed
very much light onto the question. The information is
frequently simply not available.
With the exception of poultry, infant
formula, and some baby food products, dating is not required by the
federal government. However, more than 20 different states
mandate dating of some foods.
One of my suppliers furnished me a
copy of an article that appeared in the March 2004 issue of Consumer
Reports. Due to 'Copyright' restrictions, we are unable to
quote the article on our web site, but if you are interested in
obtaining more information on this subject, please click on the link
