In 1865, almost one year after the Bavarian "Fairytale King", Ludwig II was crowned, the people of the capital city of Munich had another reason to come out and be seen in public. At this time, Paul Reber, youngest son of Royal Court Judge Dr. Jur. Xaver Reber, opened a Confiserie Cafe which quickly became the place to be, and be seen. Munich's Hautevolee, officers, and high ranked civil servants on the Bavarian Court soon made it a hobby to stop by for a cup of coffee and discuss the issues of the time. Paul Reber quickly gained recognition for the superb quality of his products, and soon became a household word for high quality confections and delightful chocolate specialties.

The Schluckwerder group of companies is one of the world largest speciality factory for marzipan products. In addition to our wide range of marzipan products we offer an assortment of pralines and chocolate specialities, like Hazelnut Crocantballs, Coconut-minis with chocolate, Wafer thins, Jamaica-rum balls, etc. Marzipan is a natural product of almonds and sugar (also known as almond-paste) which combined with chocolate is a delicious sweet.
