Richard Glässer GmbH Seiffen
In the year 2008 the Richard Glässer wood crafters looked back on 75 years of manufacturing and selling the typical wooden Christmas decoration from the Erzgebirge region.

Many of our handmade Christmas pyramids, music boxes, candle arches, smoking figures and nutcrackers have decorated the living rooms for many generations during the Christmas season in Germany and abroad. The traditional relation between our products and the development of our home, the Erzgebirge region, is carefully kept by our staff. Every day it is newly created by sensitive hands and bound to high-quality requirements.

It is very important to us to keep and continue with the typical craft techniques, e.g. turning and wood-shaving. Our company logo with the musician angel is the product seal attached to our products. It helps you with the decision-making and guarantees the originality. The images that follow and the PDF-catalogue, are designed to help you in making an informed buying decision.

Tradition from the Ore Mountains

The history of the Ore Mountains was largely shaped by the mining of its rich deposits of ore following the arrival of the first human settlements. The mining of ore became one of the main ways for people in the region to earn a living back in the 12th Century.

However, when the deposits of tin, silver and copper began to dwindle in the mid-17th Century and mining became increasingly insignificant, many miners were forced to turn their hand to activities like wood-carving and lathe work in order to make a living. Nevertheless their mining activities provided an endless source of subjects to be depicted in wood in the evenings. Typical varieties oflocal craftsmanship such äs creating wood-shaving trees made arts and crafts from the Ore Mountains worid-famous.

These traditional techniques and designs continue to be nurtured with great love and creativity.

Welcome to the wood carving shop of Björn Köhler and its sortiment of wood carvings. Among the sortiment, is the renowed series of nativity figures, available in two sizes (4.7 inches and 7.1 inches in height) in its natural wood color, but also in a fine color glaze.

The nativity figures facinate and please not only on account of the high artisan skills inherent in the product, the clean configuration, but also due to the silken surface which is pleasing to your touch.

The natural beauty of the materials, enhanced by the natural characteristics of the wood grain, provide a uniqueness to the various characters.

All our creations, including our nativity figures, are available only in annual limited quantities.

Willkommen im Sortiment der Eppendorfer Werkstatt von Björn Köhler Dazu gehört natürlich die bekannte Serie der gedrechselten Krippefiguren, die es in zwei Größen (12 und 18 cm) und neben der Ausführung in natur auch mit einer feinen Farblasur gibt.

Dank der hohen, handwerklichen Fertigungsqualitaet faszinieren die Figuren durch ihre klare Gestalt und die handschmeichelnde, seidenmatte Oberflaeche.

Die natürliche Schönheit des Materials unterstuetzt durch seine ausdrucksvolle Maserung den unver¬wechselbaren Charakter der kleinen Unikate. Wie alle unsere figürlichen Kompositionen werden auch die Krippefiguren nur in einer jährlich limitierten Auflage gefertigt und sind deshalb nicht unbegrenzt lieferbar.

Seiffener Volkskunst eG was founded by local craftsman in 1958. Since that time we have been dealing with the manufactoring of wooden items in traditional style of our Erzgebirge region.

Nutcrackes, smockers, angels and miners made as copies of classical models, historically valuable items „Striezelkinder", little shaping trees of excellent quality, a wide range of ring turned animals and a lot of carved figurines belong to our main assortment.

Further items complete our final production range.

Its our special interest to hold a steadly high level of client contacts and after sales service.

Because their involvement and love with making all detail of their products carefully our craftsman will carry on producing the known high quality of our articles.

Welcome to the family-run Müller workshop in Seiffen.

Following the tradition of the region, Erzgebirge wooden folklore has been manufactured here for more than 100 years. We, the present members of the family, take pride in continuing what our great-grandfather Edmund Oswald Müller started in 1899. He offered a very wide range of products. The toys available from his workshop included doll's house furniture made to the fashion of those days as well as the famous Seiffen match-box miniatures. In 1943, his son Paul took over, developing the workshop in his father's spirit. His products of natural wood found worldwide recognition.

At the end of the fifties, the wide assortment of articles on offer was enlarged by the first Müller Pyramids. From 1973 to 2000, Gunter Müller was in charge of the workshop. He saw to Müller design becoming easily noticeable with all our products. Müller Music Boxes, Pyramids, delicate Miniatures and diversified Candle Arches have added much to Seiffen's fame as the Village of Toy-Making.

Ringo Müller, the current owner and manager, represents the fourth generation of the family since our workshop was founded. To qualify as a master craftsman, he created Seiffen Village, the first big Candle Arch fully illuminated inside. It is outstanding developments like this that keep our long tradition alive.
